I think the smoking hole was monument enough. Should have cemeted the crater as a reminder of what happens when we let our guard down.
And a simple respectful headstone for the people murdered at that spot.
It’s a grave. It’s not a tourist attraction

I visited the USS Arizona on a cool tuesday morning..It was a very powerful experience…We show them honor with memorials for all the generations to remember our fallen heroes.
