Never? I’m guessing someone in the Bush administration would have been all-too-happy to see Chavez gone. Didn’t they support the failed coup attempt at one point? (apologies as my memory is a bit hazy from that far back).
I’m talking about since the latest unrest began. The US response has been very measured, and nobody’s talking about regime change, just making fairly bland, standard diplomatic statements about refraining from violence, etc.
That’s what I’m objecting to in this article - it’s a hyperventilating piece about the “US support for regime change in Venezuela” that’s completely made up out of nothing.
