Blue Fielder, I was born and grew up in Chicago. My parents live in Chicago. I work in Chicago. I’ve been a Cook County native my whole life.

So it’s not the same thing with me as with some wingnut. I really am sad that things in some parts of Chicago are that bad, and it makes me feel somewhat useless that I don’t have a good idea about how to stop the gang violence in those parts of the city of my birth.

There was a good piece on one such neighborhood in Chicago (West Garfield Park) in the Chicago Tribune today. Check it out. you’ll find it far better and more nuanced than standard wingnut fare.

I’m not mad at you, BF, but I do treat Chicago with respect and I ask that you consider my posts in that light.
