I have no idea what to make of the National Guard being deployed. I guess they literally think this is a war zone? Unreal.

On the other hand, maybe they’ll treat the civilians in the area more like actual humans.

One thing that the National Guard can do under a state of emergency that the police can’t is to kick everybody who doesn’t live there out. They can also set up check points and deny outsiders access to the area without a verifiable need to enter.
