From where I sit, I’m seeing no difference between mainstream conservatism and alt-right white supremacist shit.

The US conservative movement has supersaturated itself with racist dog whistles etc. to such an extent that the instant someone wins by being explicitly racist (as Trump has done), the entire movement becomes alt-right overnight.

I’ve been saying for months that it is a distinction without a difference (and if I could use the search function, I could blind you with my brilliance.)
