I think that’s what’s got the Right scared shitless right now, same with Crist. Namely that fear that, with a sane Republican on the ballet next to the Tea Party character, they’ll succeed in splitting the vote so badly that the Democrat wins. The Tea Party candidates now can’t just run on the “Not a Democrat” platform, they also have to explain why they’re different from their Republican challengers.

That’s true in Alaska, less so right now in Florida. Rubio’s got a good lead, and he’s not faltering. It’s Rubio’s race to lose at this point. He holds strong, he wins. And I can live with that. In fact, I’ve come to favor him over Crist.
