I frankly have no idea how to react to the Turkish situation.
That Islamist Erdogan is a bad guy goes without saying, has been clear to me since around 2002. Then again, that doesn’t mean that the guys behind the coup are better, esp. as we don’t really know who they are. In any case, what is going on is the opposite of healthy politics. Turkey is clearly not ready to join the EU.

They won’t be ready for quite some time, I’d say.
