The Family Medical Leave Act passed the House on February 3, 1993, by a vote of 265-163. The final vote passed with 224 “aye” votes from Democrats, compared with 29 “nay” votes. Republicans in the House voted 40-134 against the FMLA.
In the Senate, the vote was 71-27. 25 of the 27 “nay” votes were from Republicans.
