+1 to offset. I don’t like the idea, but I saw no reason to downding. You made your point well, and it provoked some thought. The stealth dingers can be annoying.

I am a recovering addict myself (and one who does not see “session drinking” as part of beating addiction), but I would never dream of imposing my lifestyle choice on others. I am truly coming from a place of wanting to keep myself and my loved ones as safe on the road as possible and people under the influence in taxis or helped out by designated drivers. Disagree with me and the proposed change, but I hope the sincerity of intent is clear enough.
