The way I see it, we have come a long way but we have to keep on pressing forward because progress is an everlasting journey. I have no doubt that my values will probably seem conservative 50 years from now but that’s okay. As long as we retain our basic values of kindness, open-mindness, etc, we’ll be okay.

Do not take for granted any of the gains we have made over the last 50 years in personal freedoms, minority, women’s or LGBT rights. There are plenty of people who would like to undo them. In fact we need to secure our gains before we can start thinking about making progress
