Not directly involving the person alleging a PA was telling people to leave the area; that would be consistent with police concerns there could be explosives in an area though.

In a second update, Metro police spokesperson Don Aaron said officers were first called to the scene for reports of shots fired in the area. The force of the explosion knocked an officer to the ground.

Three people were hospitalized with injuries, police said.

The fire department confirmed a bomb squad was on the scene with an active investigation by Metro police and federal agencies.

Mayor John Cooper has toured the scene and estimates twenty buildings were damaged, along with water mains.
