The real question is if he wins does he caucus with the D’s or R’s? In his shoes I would say screw the R’s, I’m going with the D’s to be more effective for my state since they are the majority.

Definitely with the dems. Which would you rather negotiate for—a committee assignment as a minority member, or a committee assignment in which you bargain with the majority for a nice plum in order to be mostly faithful on cloture votes and the votes that the majority leader tells you are party-line, rather than votes of conscience?
