re: #14 Great White Snark

I’ll make some tea with honey. Might help your vocal cords recover. ‘Cause for all the ineptitude and craven disregard shown here, they will be highly professional at covering their asses and redefining reasonable doubt via taxpayer paid lawyers at hundreds and hour.

This is why I flinch when some depend on government to protect them from the awful private capitalist option. What I see is it matters not whether gov or corp. What matters is effective checks and balances, well paid oversight and laws with teeth. Put those things together and it goes well, again completely independent of what the management source or style is. Public or private becomes unimportant. Also importantly the issue at hand becomes far less exploitable in election years. Unremarkable. Trouble is some will miss the leverage and seek to invent it.

Pinning the blame on the Republicans for this isn’t just a partisan blame game. Flint Michigan is a completely predictable and expected outcome of the kind of ‘governance’ the Republicans have come to embrace.

So if we really do want to prevent stuff like this from happening again, the GOP wrecking ball model of ‘governance’ is as much a part of the picture as anything else. This isn’t just a random act of ineptitude by some mid-level flunkies.
