I’m beginning to think we won’t see climate change taken seriously by a majority of Americans until we start losing a city to the sea. Even with the worst droughts on record, tornadoes tearing up whole towns, snow storms crushing roofs under record levels of snow, and monstrously huge South Pacific typhoons, people still want to believe that this is just a “normal” thing. The whole “cycles” bit has been pushed so hard that the public doesn’t even question it anymore.
