Trying to decipher the morass of rules governing HSAs to determine how to withdraw our excess contribution for the year (since the job change brought with it - wait for it - new health insurance that disqualifies us from having an HSA for those months and we’d already done the full contribution for the year) gives me a headache.

Can we just have fucking single payer already?

It used to be extremely simple, just transfer the funds and report the right figures on your tax forms, but ACA f’d that up too.
