My brother in-law just returned from Haiti a couple of weeks ago after being there for a few weeks working on micro lending initiatives and/or debt relief for Treasury (he does both). He was telling me before he left that after 4 years of working in Central America and the Caribbean for DoT he felt things in Haiti were really starting to turn around. Not so much now. How utterly tragic.
