I hear, from the left, way more “The GOP is just obstructing and obfuscating” than I hear actual points about issues. When I hear actual points, they are misleading and/or, as you say, emotional arguments. Perhaps your experience has been different from mine.

That’s what is getting through your filter. It happens just as much on the right as it does on the left. You notice more when the opposition is doing it…
