Back when I was in college, HP was considered one of the choicest of employees for the new graduating engineers to target for their first job. I seem to remember that I interviewed with the HP rep when they came to campus, though I was not an engineering major, after I had decided to not pursue an advanced degree at that time.

It is tragic to see how that famous American company was put through the wringers by new upper management over time, as the new hot shot executives came in with the non-engineering background and tried to capitalize on the hard-won praise the earlier HP products garnered.
