Work experience that comes with age, real or perceived, should not be a disqualification.

I get that you think it’s fine if it was ever to become one, but I hear self-loathing in that.

Don’t ,, I’m just being a realist

Just as not having experience can be a detriment to the hiring process,,, just as being very young (and therefore limited maturity in some cases) can be, so can being close to retirement age
