Coming in here after the fact. In my humble experience taking a kid of any age to a good band is one very good thing to do for anyone of any age.
And I think when you come back from this you MAY agree.
If not, try another band.

We had such a great time. Yeah, the mix was off for the first few songs, but it got fixed and sounded great. First, it was great to see this crowd of mostly baby boomers bouncing in their seats to the music. But mostly it was about Lindsey Buckingham’s guitar virtuosity and songwriting prowess. His voice is a touch roached, but he hit it when it mattered. The words “Fleetwood Mac” were never uttered, but he did talk a bit about looking forward and alluded to undergoing life changes that left him humbled and blessed. For me, “Big Love” was transcendent. Precision fingerpicking in a punk style. “Tusk” was great, too. You don’t need the UCLA band, it turns out. So glad we went, and my son had a great time as well.

As a note: my 14yo is a huge Dylan fan (didn’t get that from me), Talking Heads, and lately it’s always The Clash in the car. None of those are or were my go-to bands. But I write this to say that he probably had his own approach to tonight’s concert.
