We vets finally got a VA to be proud of… under Bush!

Still getting used to my new hip! My treatment was first class and it gave me a chance to be with the young vets just starting to come to grips with their injuries.
I shared a room with four other vets. Two from WWII and two from Iraq. I am of the Vietnam era.
Sharing pain and stories help the young ones face their future with pride. Watching an old vet try to learn how to walk again gives the young vet the nuts to get up beside that old dude and try out his new prosthetics. Those first steps need to be taken with men he respects. Men he would rather fall down in front of then not try at all.

AND NOBODY CALLS HIM A BABY KILLER IN THAT HOSPITAL!
