For all of the “WE GONNA DIE CUZ TERRORISTS” from conservatives, I am amazed at the indifference shown to a conspiracy to enter and tap a sitting US senator’s office. Do they think it should be soft-pedaled? Chalked up to boyish hijinks?
It just feeds into the contempt-of-government culture, IMO, giving the impression that security breaches of our politicians are nothing to worry about. Not the “story of the century”? Shouldn’t it at least matter, a little?

Seriously, what matters is that many on the right at the moment will defend anyone at all perceived to be playing for ‘their team’, regardless of what that entails.
It’s the flipside to the GOP obstructionism that says NO! reflexively in the same way now.
