Speaking of unintended consequences, another major outbreak has been reported. This time its mumps in Ohio, and scientists are trying to pinpoint the source.

That’s on top of the ongoing measles outbreak in the NYC metro area and a new outbreak out in California.

To say nothing of other smaller outbreaks across the nation.

All this is on anti-vaxxers. This is a wholly preventable disease through vaccination, which protects not only those who get vaccinated, but those who can’t because they’re immune compromised or are too young to be vaccinated. Now, those populations are at risk because the anti-vaxxers have gained undue sway.

Add to this the religious beliefs exemption, and it’s a recipe for a public health crisis.
