If they weren’t racists, the cultural heritage they’re so proud of would be French or Spanish or English or Irish or Swedish or Greek or Russian or German or some other *specific* thing other than “white”.

Each of these cultures has a language, a religion, a history, a cuisine — they are not at all interchangeable, and people who call themselves any of these would be insulted as hell at being lumped into a category with any of the others.

And some of them I must add were once told they weren’t really white. Hell I even have a 1910 census record with my Slovakian born great grandfather listed as a mulatto. My one grandfather remembered being scaerd when the KKK went through their town. I’m not “white.” I’m German-Irish-Slovak-Slovene and I’m proud of thoes cultures, yes but I don’t think it makes me superior in any shape or form.
