My question, and I’ve done almost no looking into this, is, did Occupy send a delegation to talk to the longshoremen? Was there any discussion or negotiation? Or did they just, I dunno, try to announce this?

From what I can tell from the Port Shutdown site is there were some talks and outreach meetings. I get the impression that the unions told them they weren’t interested and the Occupy folks are going ahead with it anyways.
