If I recall, lots of very good security services in other countries also believed Saddam had WMD. That was not Bush flying solo.

They all turned out to be wrong, and frankly, THANK GOODNESS for it!

I knew a lot of people (including myself) who knew Bush was full of crap at the time, and said so repeatedly and loudly. Not that it did us any good of course.

I think people actually fell for it because they didn’t expect the administration to lie on that scale.

The problem was that there were so very many people who were so very loudly and stridently anti-Bush for everything, they just had very little credibility!

Sort of like those folks who now are loudly and stridently anti-Obama everything right now - we talk all the time here about how idiotic those folks are, don’t we?
