What it really boils down to in a lot of ways is that Fluke, a smart and confident woman, had the audacity to bring facts into the mix. That she, under oath, laid out the reality that contraception is not “cheap,” that many woman are forced to go without due to not having the resource to afford it, and that the medical consequences of doing so can rob women of the chance to ever have children in the first place.

She did, in one day, more damage to the Right’s argument for “religious freedom” than weeks of arguments in the press, in Congress, and online. And so, for that, she had to be destroyed.

And, not just destroyed, but Fluke had to be completely and utterly annihilated and discredited (using RWNJ “logic”), because she dared to say things that threatened to bring their worldview crashing down around their ears.
