So glad I wasn’t doing the political blogging nonsense after 9/11, my internets were a refuge from crazy-ass 9-11-flavored vengeance jingoism, and Kos was boring to read because, hey, I already agreed with some of it, but they were too, I dunno, wrapped up in the New World Of Talking On Message Boards On the Internet!

Meanwhile, I was unsubbing from dozens of my lefty e-mail lists that were becoming unbearable. My favorite was the one with the woman who said she understood al-Qaeda’s rage at the United States, because as a New Zealander, she was oppressed by U.S. tariffs.
