Thank you! Actually it’s not such an expensive trip. Crossing the Drake Passage to Antarctica is. Usually that trip would cost you around 6000 dollars minimum, but if you show up the day before and they have a vacancy they let you board for about 2000 dollars.

Southern Patagonia is stunningly beautiful, but the weather is… well if you don’t like it, wait ten minutes.

That’s what I figured. These voyages down to Antarctica must be massively expensive to run; being a same-day traveler is the only way I can afford a trip down there anytime soon! Have a good friend from Punta Arenas and a long-standing offer to visit….hope he doesn’t mind an open-ended stay!
