Did you notice the subtle way it taps power? Those little whirly-gigs in the transit tunnel are actually wind-powered generators for the hidden lair.

If they were really clever they could capture power by placing induction coils along the path of the many traveling sheeple who have BOUGHT GOLD. Make them generate the energy that will light the way to their DOOM.
