It can serve a social organization, and may organize politically (I’ve got no problem with union’s engaging in political activity if the funds used were solicited freely given for that purpose).
That’s nice Dark, but a Union isn’t a country club, it exists primarily to help the people who make it up get a fair shake together at work.
If you take away a union’s right to collectively bargain on many issues (and tie the ones that it still can bargain together on to the inflation rate so that they can’t rise above it…) well Dark what would you get out of being a member of that Union?
