which is why I don’t get the whole scenerio as it was written in the article. Traffic is normally moving rather slowly at this series of intersections at 5pm. The guy must have been really f-ed up to be going fast enough to kill someone.

There is also construction right there, so I can’t imagine traffic going over 20 miles an hour during a green light.

The person killed was on a motorcycle. It doesn’t take that much. We had a fatal accident here in the Twin Cities where a motorcyclist ran into the back of a truck that stopped suddenly and died. Given the time of day, traffic in that area wouldn’t have been moving much faster than 20 mph, but it still happened.
