It’s been my view that the Klan (actually an ever changing managerie of small groups) is basically a mob of under-class losers who have been duped into serving as a lightning rod for the serious, powerful elements who are the real drivers of racism in this country. It was certainly like that in the deep south during the Civil Rights movement, when Klan bombers and goofballs were vilified by the self same “respectable” citizens who were the real beneficiaries and guardians of institutionalized racism.
It may be the same in Ferguson, focus on the obnoxious inbreds while politicians, police, and the tea party collude to derail the search for justice.
