On another subject entirely, I went to pick up some groceries this afternoon wearing my new Cuzco/Machu Picchu t-shirt, and the clerk at checkout (he’s been there for years) asked if I’d been to Cuzco. I said yes, he said he was from there. Cool!

(When you look at it, you can see all the joins where one stone stops and another begins, but if you close your eyes and run your fingers along the stones, it feels like one solid wall, no breaks.)

Ancient builders were all excellent stone masons. Even here in rural China, traditional Miao dry-fit walls and foundations last 100s of years.
