There is no way to find out what happened on that evening, any chance to collect evidence is gone, and in absence of any testimony on the part of Trayvon martin, we have to accept Zimmermann’s version of events, as long as it is reasonably consistent with itself.

Or as long as Zimmerman’s version doesn’t contradict known facts, or as long as he isn’t impeached (demonstrated to be a liar). For which, by the way, public statements about the case can be used. Which means it’s possible (not guaranteed) that the prosecution can say, “Proven liar Zimmerman claims this is what happened. But remember he lies.”
