Yes, Leo Express is a private company that uses the national railway system. They started up a couple of years back. Aside from the state railway company, there’s one other private railway company, Student Agency; the most positive thing is that now having some competition, the state railway agency has lowered their prices and now offers promotions in order to compete.

That being said, the two private companies here really only run the Prague-Brno-Ostrava route, and anything else in between is handled by České Dráhy. And of course, there’s several private bus carriers to choose from, including Student Agency and Leo Express.
