It honestly shocks me that there are people who still think “you know, this policy we’ve had with Cuba for 60 years hasn’t worked, we should keep doing it, only make it even tougher!” At what point do they look at the fact that we opened and maintained relations with the USSR/Russia, China, and Vietnam? And that each of those countries are in, to varying degrees, better places because of it?
I don’t get it either. I understand why it’s an emotional issue for Cuban-Americans such as yourself but we not only dealt with communism in Romania, we were on good terms with them. If Anti-Castroism was backed up by a consistent opposition to authoritarian government, I could respect it.
