I think the foisting was by McCain on the rest of us.

She was a last minute, desperate choice by McCain and his campaign to try and attract disgruntled Hillary supporters by saying “See! We can nominate a woman! Vote GOP!” It also helped that Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods was just as dumb as the far right loons McCain needed on his side.

At the end of the day, she was still his choice, and it showed how desperate and craven he was. He went with someone he barely even knew existed to try and knock Obama off the front pages.
