Yup. But it’s not evolution — the distribution of traits changed, but nothing was added, removed or changed (as illustrated by the fact that the moths reverted to type when the coal dust went away).

Of course that’s evolution - a change in the genetic composition of a population over generations caused by selective pressure acting on genetic diversity. Evolution doesn’t imply something added in every case.

The genetic composition of the moth population changed, as the environment changed imposing a different selective pressure. That’s evolution.
