I commiserated with an artist friend of mine from Maine earlier this afternoon. It surprised me to learn that she had also evolved from being a conservative as well in recent years. And it broke her heart to find out that her parents went for Cheeto Jesus.

This is going to be more common than we think.

Yep. My family totally disowned me in 2012 when I told them I voted for Obama. Didn’t think to much about then. Figured hey it just politics, went to the usual family get together’s and nothing was said. Then I damn near lost my mate in Jan (pulmonary edema) and none of them called or visited after being informed.

My eldest sister called last week wanting to know if we would be there for the Thanksgiving meal. Got told to Fuck off. If they didn’t care about me or the Mate, I didn’t want anything to do with them.
