Calling half-assed newbie Buddhists half-assed newbie Buddhists does not show any disrespect for Buddhism, I don’t think.

Especially given that anyone can read a book, decide they’re a Buddhist, and start being annoying in chat rooms.

Or, annoying their friends (I have an acquaintance who is the sort of Buddhist you describe).
