Well, it and it’s changes are very different things. And it didn’t work too well for black people for the first couple hundred years, or for women up until this century, etc.

It’s a good foundation for government but it is very easy to constitutionally pull a lot of terrible shit, if you have Supreme Courts like the one that made the Dredd Scott decision.

Seems to me the document was ahead of it’s culture. The document said all men created equal. It was right, the culture was wrong. So pervasively wrong it led all branches astray from that equality principle. If “men” were taken as shorthand for humanity women would have been better off sooner. But great ideals often outpace culture.

But hey that’s just my take. And I’ll admit to some fatigue, I was in a deposition being challenged all freakin day. We went to the 7 hour limit of actual depo time. My brain is just tired.
