Rand Paul is a putz, but in this case I will give him a pass. If I had the money to get needed surgery done the right way, I would go ahead and spend the money, even it meant flying to another country to have it done. Paul has probably heard the same horror stories about hernia operations we’ve heard, so I’m not going to diss him for choosing doctors that could save him from decades of trouble and pain. He’s 56, and if he lives as long as his dad (now 83) has, that’s potentially another 30 years of long term effects of problematic surgery.

You don’t gamble with your health.

But it does highlight how much better Canada is than the US. Seems everyone wants to go there now.

Maybe Rand will ask for asylum.
