For as much as the Trumpers on twitter are trying to make hay over Afghanistan, and I expect plenty of elected Republicans to follow suit, I am fairly confident that the population as a whole will not be interested in fighting over Afghanistan.

As in, I expect the Republicans running for office to discover they can’t get much traction out of it.

The war was never popular with the the US electorate. Obama did all he could to avoid it in campaigning, knowing he’d be obliged to keep troops there though the majority in his party was against it.

Our old lizard, Gus, is all Afghanistan now. He even said that Hillary would not have let this happen (!)

This is not even wrong.

I wish he and others on Twitter would catch a flight to Pakistan and fight the Taliban there. Most Trumpers would rather beat up people at home: less effort.
