I remember when I was in high school (say 80~81) and some I hung out with, especially the hard core Springsteen fans, would tell me how boring and how blah this record was.

I just smiled. And ignored them.

Then I cranked the hell out of Running on Empty.

And when I got the chance to see him live, I screamed my lungs out on this and so many other songs. God damn, I still love him.

Wife and I caught him a few years back at the Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Cleveland. We were doing a “let’s see them before they die” concert summer (caught James Taylor that summer also). They put on a great show.
