I would put an eternal flame in the middle of a marbled ground over the crater, with the names carved on a wall that covers the edge of a small portion of the circle. I would also put a large American flag in the center on a pole in front of the eternal flame.

Eternal flames are under fire … the one on the National WW1 Museum in Kansas City is short on funds … and I’m pretty sure Algore wouldn’t approve.
