Are we at a place where any other than glowing comment about the President’s race is an epic gaffe?

The gaffe here is that race requires a comment at all. This maybe a generational thing, but comments on race in the context of performance say much about what’s not being said by the speaker then the thing that is said.

On the race-o-meter, Mathews rates a Harry Reid. Stupid fucking thing to say. The type of thing that one thinks, then says to themselves, wow, did I just think that? Not, gee, here’s and insightful comment.
