Fyodor Berezin, a sci-fi writer who became Strelkov’s deputy, made a weird joke (?) to the journalist Pavel Kanygin, to the effect of “Maybe there was no Strelkov? Maybe it’s all just the Matrix anyway?”

I do wonder though…..perhaps Strelkov said, “Well, screw this noise - I’m outta here. If anyone asks, tell ‘em I’m dead or whatever.”
