Huh. I’d have figured the moral outrage would be limited to potential grandparents, and that mostly those who had children would feel alternating jealousy and superiority.

I have a strong suspicion that a fair number of couples have kids because it is expected of them and they don’t enjoy parenthood as much as they might. Having now done their “duty” they resent people who don’t have kids and use the money they would have spent on diapers and daycare on fun stuff.
