re: #268 goddamnedfrank

If she’ll have him he’s probably going to pick Susanna Martinez of New Mexico. Mitt needs to offset the ill will he and his party have generated from women and latinos during this primary season, and she’d be an antidote to charges that the Republicans are a bunch of misogynistic hispanophobes.

No she wouldn’t. I guess you missed the 2008 elections because Sarah Palin did not help the GOP with women at all. Filling in quotas with a female or Latino pick will not change how women or Latinos view the GOP. In fact, there’s plenty of proof that it does the opposite. It gives the impression that the GOP thinks minorities and women are stupid an simply vote based on gender or color. We don’t. Policies matter. Romney can try to fill any quota he wants with his VP pick and it won’t make the GOP look more minority or woman friendly. We are not impressed with window dressing.
